Strategy Analysis

Business analysts play a major role in the organization and design of systems, including businesses, departments, and organizations. Business analysts also assess business models and their integration with technology. Often the BA has a technical background, having worked as a programmer or engineer, or completing a Computer Science degree.

Business analysts can help in many ways including:
1. Strategic planning—the analysis and identification of an organization's strategic business needs
2. Operating and business model analysis—defining and analyzing an organization's policies and market business approaches
3. Process definition and design—business process modeling (often developed through process modeling and design)
4. Technical business analysis—the interpretation of business rules and requirements for technical systems (generally within IT, sometimes referred to as systems analysis)

In summary, a BA’s job is to help you:
- Define business goals - Near, far and transitional
- Identify quantities and qualities requirements to reach goals
- Specify methodology, process, steps and sequence for the best, shortest and most efficient way to apply solutions
- Meet the acceptance criteria of the proposed solution by both business management and stakeholders
- Coordinate and implement the installation and deployment of a solution in a reasonable manner, avoiding business interruption
- Validate, test and verify that the solution is working as planned and that all involved staff receive proper training
