Prewiring

Prewiring is the installation of “structured wiring” inside a building’s walls and floors that can pass low-voltage electronic signals to devices that you’ll eventually install, like alarm systems, telephones, computing devices, audio and paging systems, surveillance, digital signage, entertainment systems, property automation, remote property monitoring and smart climate control. Until recently, each of these device types required their own specific kinds of wire, like coaxial cables, HDMI cables and twisted pair copper. Many of them still do.

However, the latest structured wiring solutions are capable of running many of these signal types over Cat6 Ethernet — a digital cable technology that’s fast, easy and economical. The specific types of cable you’ll need will depend on your expectations and the potential system you have in mind, but the best prewiring strategies will leave you with plenty of flexibility to make those decisions when it’s convenient for you, and not leave you disappointed either now or in the future. That's done through future-proofing and thinking ahead.

Once your structure is adequately pre-wired, there is no need to re-wire when you add new systems, services, electronics, technology and components. With the right infrastructure in place, adding and changing devices and services is easy and cost effective.

We install voice and data cabling systems using CAT6, HDMI and fibre optic. Our engineers install to the highest standards ensuring completion of the project meets or exceeds EIA /TIA 586 or European ISO 11801 standard.
In addition, we have a duty of care in ensuring neat and professional service, fully tested with proven results.

CompuMe will engage with any Third-Party service provider employed by your business, ensuring continuity and a seamless service during installation. We also have a partner network of Internet/ telecom providers offering specialised services in voice over IP (VoIP) and digital telephony systems, and we can introduce a provider specific to your requirements.

In addition to structured cabling, we can also offer wireless links between buildings within line of sight. For larger wide area networks please see our networks section.
